If you are concerned about the threat of swine flu, you may want to make use of online networking to mitigate the risks.
This is the advice of the Forum of Private Business (FPB), which pointed out that experts predict there will be around 100,000 new cases being diagnosed in the UK each day by the end of next month.
According to the organisation, a quarter of the country's workforce could be hit by sickness at any one time when the pandemic reaches its peak.
With the help of partner firm Qdos Consulting, the FPB has issued advice to businesses to help them prepare.
It suggested that you should minimise face-to-face contact by operating over the internet and telephone where possible.
In addition, you should look into the possibility of using online networks as a way of sharing information between colleagues, the FPB claimed.
FPB director of finance and administration Nick Palin said: "As a business owner, the more that you can put into preparing before a pandemic happens, the better placed your business will be to survive it unscathed."
Meanwhile, Business Link advises that you should ensure your workers have information concerning swine flu because the more they know, the more resilient your company will be.
