yvComment is an extension by Yuri Volkov which allows your users to comment on your articles.  It comes with 35 language packs and supports Captcha (secret word) extensions, Smileys, BBCodes, Avatars/Gravatars, WYSIWYG editors and many other content plugins and tools designed to work with Articles.

sh404SEF rewrites Joomla! URLs to a search engine friendly format. It was written by Yannick Gaultier. It supports intergration with many popular Joomla! extensions such as Fireboard, Community Builder, mosetsTree, HotProperty, Sobi2, Docman, myBlog, iJoomla Magazine, News Portal and Remository.  There are multiple add-ons available to further extend its capabilities. 

J!Position from style13 is an admin-only component which provides a graphical layout for each menu item of the module positions and the modules assigned to them. It gives you an easy view of what is positioned where. We used the free version, but subscription versions are available which allow drag-and-drop repositioning. 

xMap from Guillermo Vargas prodcues a dynamic sitemap from your menu structure. A number of plugins are available to integrate with popular Joomla! extensions. See an example on our SiteMap page.

Wikibot allows you to enter "Wikitags" in Joomla! articles, which will then auto-create dynamic hyperlinks to Wikipedia articles when displayed. It allows disambiguation qualifiers and will access Wiktionary and Wikinews. It can also be set up to access custom wiki sites, not just Wikipedia.

FJ Related & FJ Uncategorised from Mark Dexter are two tools which add flexibility to the way you can display articles. FJ Related significantly extend Joomla's core Related Articles functionality. FJ Uncategorised allows easy manipulation and presentation of articles not assigned to any category.

Remository Glossary, written by Martin Brampton, is a toolset which allows you to list definitions of key terms within your website. Wherever these terms are found in your content a pop-up will appear showing the definition.  See the glossary definitions on the Glossary page.

Loadmodule for Section/Category Description from kksou allows you to load any module position into the section or category description text. One for the purists.

Include Content Item from kksou allows you to load any content item into the body of another, whilst also checking you don't build recursive calls. One for the purists.

PDF Embed from Tekdi allows you to load a window into your content which shows an external PDF file.

mosIframe from Viet NguyenHoang allows you to position an iFrame containing an affiliate link directly into your content.

jCrawler does the same as Google Crawler. It crawls your Joomla! site and stores all the URLs in a Sitemap file. You can then ping Google, Yahoo, Moreover, Ask.com and MSN to notify them that your sitemap is available.

Google Verify plugin makes it simple to use the Google Webmaster Tools site verification. It adds the "Verify" meta tag to the home page - just get your verification from Google and enter it into the plugin parameters.

AlphaContent is an extension by Bernard Gilly is a component that allows the creation of directories such as Yahoo from sections and categories on your site Joomla!. It also helps to add items not categorized (Articles static) as a section like weblinks components and contacts. We've used it here to create a simple A-Z list of site content as an alternative to the normal SiteMap (powered by xMap).

JoomlaPack is an open-source backup component for the Joomla! CMS, quite a bit different than its competition. Its mission is simple: create a site backup that can be restored on any Joomla!-capable server. Its possibilities: endless It creates a full backup of your site in a single archive. The archive contains all the files, a database snapshot and an installer derived from the standard Joomla! installer. The backup and restore process is AJAX powered to avoid server timeouts, even with huge sites. Alternatively, you can make a backup of only your database. JCE Editor by Ryan Demmer is an alternate WYSIWYG editor for use with Joomla!  It has a number of plugins and extensions to allow use with other people's add-ons, and has the distinct advantages that it picks up the styles from your own template, and has a cunning system for easily linking to external or internal items.

Acajoom is an extension which allows creation of newsletters. You can set up unlimited mailing lists and give your subscribers ability to join or leave each through the website. You can apply a style template to each mailing list and then create content for your newsletter as a mix of free text/images and embedded joomla content articles. Use it with the JCE Editor to apply styles from your own template.
